Another Place
Mucky Mountains celebrated New Year 2006 in the usual manner. We had a party on New Year's Eve, including a pantomime and party games (not suitable for publication). On New Year's Day we had a walk on the beach at Crosby to get our culture over for the year. We viewed Antony Gormley's installation of 100 statues, Another Place, which harnesses the ebb and flow of the tide to explore man's relationship with morris.
Photos from New Year 2006
New Year's Eve pantomime

The English lasses are ready for milking.

The cast hadn't had any time to learn their lines.

Jack, his mother and Nancy watch the beanstalk grow. It looks somewhat etiolated. Jim looks somewhat inebriated.

The giant makes a dash for the beanstalk. He's behind you!

Jack wields his mighty chopper.

The French lads are ready for milking. Oh non they're not!
New Year's Day walk at Crosby

On the beach with the glorious backdrop of Seaforth docks.

Looking out to sea with Antony Gormley.

This unfortunate chap had to do all the dancing, but the weather was a bit nippy, so he couldn't raise a leg (or anything else). The BBC's North West Tonight was a bit short of news on Bank Holiday Monday, so this photo featured very briefly amidst other viewers' snaps.

Probably a better picture. Peter is fascinated by something.

We all know who wears the trousers in our side.

A feather in his cap. I don't think he sees the point.
New Year's Day music session

Melodeon players count to eight. The clock only chimes seven.

Sally plays chords with both hands.

Frank on the fiddle again. He makes it look so easy!
