We belong to Open Morris, a national association of Morris sides.
We have close links with Earl of Stamford Morris, based in the Warrington area.
Mucky Mountains links
The Mucky Mountains were formed from waste from Muspratt’s Vitriol Works.
The St Helens Birds and Wildlife blog may have some information on the wildlife of the Mucky Mountains. An enormous colony of Preissia quadrata (a large thallose liverwort confined to lime-rich areas) has also been reported.
The Mucky Mountains are in the Sankey Valley Country Park, managed by St Helens Council.
Dancers’ links
We have recently raised money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Dave Brewster, British Heart Foundation in memory of Peter Aindow, and the Niemann-Pick Disease Group (UK). We have also danced regularly for local support groups of the Alzheimer’s Society and Hargreaves Dementia Trust.
Some of our members are plotholders at Nutgrove Allotments in St Helens.
